Our Methodology: A 10-Step Process:
Our search approach will be tailored to successfully meet your company’s recruitment goals. The following details our 10-step methodology utilized in our executive recruitment.
Step 1. Detailed Analysis. We truly discover what your requirements are. We investigate the position and its responsibilities, your mission, the aptitude and requisite skills required, and your organizational structure and environment. In order to accomplish this, we request to meet with your hiring committee and/or any available hiring directors related to the open position. All acquired information properly equips our Executive Recruiter to make the best match for your company.
During the analysis, we will:
- Conduct a detailed review to ascertain your company’s specific needs, strategic plans, and unique culture.
- Create a meticulous job description to ensure that job advertisements attract exemplary candidates.
- Develop standardized screening criteria and rigorous candidate evaluations to lead an effective, equitable, and compliant process.
Step 2. Recruitment. We tap into our exclusive network of executives. Scion Executive Search perpetually networks with our elite C-level executives across our national and global channels. For all executive searches, we conduct research to identify qualified potential candidates, utilize our robust database of talented executive leaders, strategically place advertisements, and recruit to identify candidates that complement your company’s culture. We will then provide you with material about the entire pool of candidates.
Our recruitment model encourages a broad reaching and diverse pool of candidates. Our firm strives to present a variegated blend of executive candidates. Because many of the candidates we identify are passive, we maintain confidentiality and integrity throughout the search.
Step 3. Networking. We connect with the movers and shakers on a confidential level. Scion Executive Search employs strategic networking techniques to engage and retain virtuous candidates. During this phase, Scion Executive Search collaborates with you as a partner to identify target networking arenas including: key corporate leaders, networks, associations, and professional organizations. We then discreetly engage within these targeted areas.
Throughout this process, we construct candidate portfolios consisting of background and profile information, executive resumes, and additional information on certifications upon request. Your company’s name will only be used when appropriate, and when approved by your leadership. Conversely, potential candidate information is also held confidential. We are judicious and confidentially approach candidates until a true interest in the position is established.
Step 4. Comprehensive Screening. All candidates are rigorously interviewed in phases and methodically matched with each of the specified requirements for each executive search we lead. This process allows us to exhaustively vet each prospective candidate. We explore multiple areas in this process including details about each candidate’s goals, motivations, career aspirations, and complimentary accomplishments in relation to their prospective effectiveness in this executive position.
Final candidates are additionally screened in step nine (9) including their professional references as well as criminal, educational, financial, media, and civil litigation checks.
Step 5. Evaluation. The goal of screening in preliminary interviews is to make initial judgments that can be tested in further interviews, interactions, and reference checking. We seek an ideal alliance between candidate’s prowess, and the challenges and responsibilities of the new role. We base our evaluations on the job description and search objectives established by your executives and key stakeholder’s objectives.
Step 6. Candidate Presentations. Upon completion of our Analysis, Recruitment, Networking, Screening, and Evaluation stages, we provide detailed profiles of the most qualified semi-final candidates. Scion Candidate Profiles offer factual insight into the candidates’ specific backgrounds, and include: (1) current salary level, (2) salary expectations, (3) employment highlights, (4) candidate’s specific availability to begin a new position, and (5) facts evidencing the employment match.
Step 7. Client Interviews. All of the administrative details for the executive search are included in our service. This includes finalizing a process with the decision makers for interviews, coordinating and scheduling candidate interviews, appointments, and meetings, and offering any advice or preparation on travel arrangements. At all times our staff is available to you as a resource to assure a seamless process.
Step 8. Final Candidate Selection. We deliver the final candidate pool to your search committee. Our Executive Recruiters are available to identify additional candidates, if necessary. At this point we offer highlights of the candidates’ personality, goals, commitment and devotion to your company’s mission and vision, career potential, staying power, growth aspects, compensation goals, track record, geography, and any other information pertaining to your successful placement.
Step 9. References and Qualifications. After the candidate interviews with your executive staff members, additional in-depth reference checking is conducted on candidates of final interest. Traditionally this is conducted on the top finalists. While completing this portion of the process, we ensure additional quality by collaborating with our candidates, and conducting a final round of scrupulous checks.
This process includes: professional references, criminal, educational, financial, media, and civil litigation checks.
Step 10. Final Offer. After your company selects a candidate for hire, we assist you in extending a final offer. In turn, we notify all candidates who were not selected.
To aid in the final hiring process, Scion Executive Search consults with you on all salary negotiations. Though every search will be inherently customized, our experts will consult with you to create the best job offer package.
Close. After every executive search we perform a client satisfaction survey (CSS). We actively seek feedback from our clients to continually improve our services.
