Scion Nonprofit Staffing (www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com) is conducting a search for a contract Part-time Development Assistant for our client, a well-known environmental nonprofit organization in Oakland, CA.

Under the direction of the Development and Communications Director, the Development Assistant is responsible for supporting the organization's fundraising efforts. This includes the following: maintaining the donor database; compiling reports; processing acknowledgement letters; coordinating the giving programs; researching donors and maintaining on-line fundraising campaigns.

RESPONISIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain donor database and all giving programs
• Process incoming donations: open, copy, calculate, batch gifts, data entry, batch reports, acknowledge gifts  
• Process online donations 
• Respond to donor inquiries via email/phone 
• Maintain letterhead/envelope inventory  
• Reconcile with Accounting and provide reports  
• Pull lists and maintain online database for e-marketing communications  

QUALIFICATIONS

•  Minimum 1 year of experience with databases, with competence in data entry, query pulling, mail merge 
•  Superb attention to detail
•  Excellent writing skills
•  Proficient with Microsoft Office 
• Proficient with QuickBooks 
• Proficient with Salesforce
•  Strong work ethic
•  Excellent organization skills
•  Light accounting knowledge preferred
•  Knowledge of donor terminology preferred         
•  Bachelor’s degree

COMPENSATION
