Scion Staffing (www.scionstaffing.com) is leading a search for a Health Services Director for our client, a well-established social services agency in San Jose serving a very diverse population in the medical and mental health arena.

The Health Services Director reports to the CEO and is responsible for the overall strategic management of this organization providing leadership, operational oversight, direct supervision, and management of our client’s Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This role is full-time and based in San Jose, CA as a combination of on-site and remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in strategic expansion of clinics and services in San Jose in underrepresented communities
  • Seeking someone who is solidified and well-qualified in strategic management in FQHC environments
  • Apply knowledge of your experience in FQHC and how the grants and funding can be best used to benefit our client’s mission and patients
  • Seeking out real estate and other clinics to possible merge with
  • Be a driver of growth for our client, spread the word, be an ambassador and create opportunity
  • Relieve the Chief Medical Officer of operational oversight duties, overseeing operational performance
  • Present to our client’s Board of Directors on issues related to operations of the clinical services and Health Center
  • Monitor and work to enhance provider efficiency in conjunction with the medical Director and Practice Administrator

Qualifications

Required:

  • Six or more years of executive experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center
  • 10-12 years of progressive responsibility in a leadership or senior level role.
  • Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A senior level acumen with fiscal responsibility, financial reports and strategic planning
  • Experience with integrated healthcare, the role of social determinants of health, and population management
  • Experience with management of government funding and grants, including HRSA
  • Experience with diverse populations
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to promote growth and expansion of low and no-cost healthcare services for underserved communities.

Salary and Benefits: The salary range is $160,000-$175,000 plus a relocation stipend plus a full benefits package including: Paid Vacation and Sick time, Comprehensive benefit plan with four Health Plan Options (they pay 95% of premiums!), 403(b) Retirement Plan with match, Professional development opportunities at no cost to you, eligibility for student loan repayment assistance, and a company laptop and cell phone stipend.
