Scion Staffing, Inc. (www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com), a full-service national staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct a search for an HR Manager for a long-standing Seattle philanthropic organization.

 

This HR Manager role with support the HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The HR Manager will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping to plan and administer important functions, such as staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits. Please be focused on social justice and racial equity, experience with DEI and culture change is also key in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements
  • Provide expert knowledge and leadership as well as assistance where needed in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization, and to improve employee or candidate experience
  • Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
  • Innovate and contribute to new COVID-19 response policies, programs, or issues, such as return to office planning and organization
  • Provide expert program management and communication for staff, managers, and cross functional partners
  • Provide leadership working with our Benefits Administrator to design smoother new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
  • Responsible for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including data reporting analysis and communications into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance
  • Provide leadership and assist with leave compliance OSHA procedures and employee support to make sure we have an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees. Including coaching people managers and all other employee-relations matters
  • Own payroll/HR audit functions through PayCom HRIS. Including; supporting bi-weekly payroll process, tracking vacation/sick pay, and benefit changes, assisted by benefits administrator

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of HR Manager/Generalist experience with focus on DEI initiatives
  • 2+ years of experience working in a non-profit or social justice focused organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field or equivalent job experience
  • 1-2 years of Paycom HRIS preferred
  • Experience and expertise in working with federal and local laws and regulations: ERISA, FMLA, ADA, WAPFML, FFCRA, FLSA and EEO

  • Pay range: $35-$45hr +great benefits package upon permanent hire
  • Job type: Temp to hire
  • Remote until state allows for onsite work
