Scion Staffing, Inc. (www.scionstaffing.com), a full-service national staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct a search for a General Manager for a very successful and long-standing janitorial and facility maintenance company in Spokane, WA

 

The General Manager is responsible for providing operational guidance and daily support to a team of supervisors, an operational manager, and sales. This position is accountable for all aspects of the janitorial services contracts for various business customers in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead ongoing efforts for process improvement to enhance productivity and increase efficiencies while sustaining a high level of quality
  • Work side-by-side with operational leadership to facilitate, influence and lead the successful daily operations.
  • Lead a sophisticated scheduling and recruiting process that proactively address staffing issues.
  • Establish a staff training program to ensure employees are educated on custodial best practices through hands-on training, and consistently coached and encouraged to perform daily work at or above established cleaning standards.
  • Fosters a culture of customer and quality standards that is embodied by all levels of leadership by having a consistent presence at all job sites and setting the standards of cleanliness of the building and consistently reviewing the contracted scope of work
  • Ensure that job inspections are made on a regular basis and any deficiencies are promptly corrected.
  • Secure new business and maintain current customers. Make sure that customers are contacted periodically regarding services being performed and maintain follow through of customer’s complaints and documented in approved tracking system.
  • Ensure effective allocation of limited employee headcount across all areas of operations to accomplish unlimited customer-driven priorities.
  • Negotiate with vendors and customers when necessary on difficult issues such as quality of service and/or product, payment, etc.
  • Provide guidance to night operations by conducting regularly scheduled meetings to discuss operational needs, account deficiencies, staffing, supplies, etc.
  • Make sure that accidents involving company vehicles, property damage, and claims are investigated and reported to the appropriate parties.

 

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in senior operational leadership position in a warehouse/facility setting
  • Bachelor’s degree with additional industry certifications preferred
  • Extensive experience in janitorial/facilities maintenance industry
  • Oversight of 75+ employees in a service-based industry
  • Oversight of multiple large accounts ($1 million annual revenue each) within a multi-city region
  • Budget management of at least 4 million annually
  • Understand Budgets, P&L, and General Ledgers
