Scion Technical Search has been engaged to conduct the search for a Development Project Manager on behalf of our client who is on a mission to develop cutting edge, next gen technologies and products! With a focus on advanced data center hardware and solutions, our client is involved in research, product development, and operations for high-density, large scale computing operations as well as applications from their headquarters in Plano, Texas (20 minutes North of Dallas).

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Development Project Manager is responsible for coordinating a number of cross-functional software development teams/projects. The successful candidate must be a detail-oriented communicator who feels comfortable working closely with engineering, design, product, and QA teams to coordinate projects from inception to consumer release as well as projects related to existing systems maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of successful project management in a Digital organization; understands difference between added value processes vs processes which impede teams.
• Experience in Agile software development; ability to translate project progress using Agile based development methodologies.
• Assists in the development, maintenance, debugging, and documentation of application code, database structure, supporting scripts and libraries, and other application components; investigates reports of exploits, application bugs, improper functionality, and abnormalities reported by internal/external users; identifies opportunities in applications/supporting elements for potential improvements, enhancements, etc.
• Makes contributions to facilitate in the development of application and platform requirements as well as implementation specifications.
• Develops procedures and methodologies related to quality control and proper operation verification.
• Engages third-party providers to present and execute against defined scopes of work and acquisition of FTE based software development.
• Reports status on project commitments and team objectives to all levels of the organization, catering your message for each audience.
• Clear and consistent communication to various stakeholders over all channels such as WebEx, chat, email and presentations.
• Inspires teamwork without direct reporting authority and maximizes value created by your teams.

QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITES:

• Extensive software development project management experience.
• 4+ years’ experience with Agile based development, git-based revision control, and continuous integration (CI) based automated deployment and testing methodologies.
• Historic, proven ability in developing application and platform requirements as well as implementation specifications.
• Intensive attention to detail and thorough understanding of what it takes to build a successful project plan; experience with balancing priorities and objectives with overlapping internal resources.
• Experience w/use & development of SQL based applications as well as development of PHP based applications; Zend framework experience is a plus!
• Knowledge of data center systems, operations, and supporting software; working familiarity with operation, configuration, and administration of data center based servers, power, and relevant networking equipment.
• Experience developing application code, supporting component version, and updating management techniques as well as methodologies.
• Ability to look forward and identify risks plus find proactive solutions.
• An infectious personality that engages others to achieve instant stakeholder buy-in.
• Mastery of MS Office w/ability to type 60 wpm

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• 4+ years of experience working in a cross-functional team environment with a track record of being a part of software projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of agile principles.
• Acute attention to detail and exemplary communication & organization skills.
• Proficiency in software dependency management across technology stacks
• Flexibility to help teams execute without perfect process or overbearing checklists.
