Scion Staffing (www.scionstaffing.com) has been engaged to conduct the search for an HR Manager on behalf of our client, a nationally recognized food manufacturer located in Alexandria, VA.

We are seeking knowledgeable Human Resources professional with at least 3 years of experience handling end-to-end HR functions including employee relations, benefits administration, staffing, and payroll management. Ideal candidates will have a background working in manufacturing or union settings and comprehensive knowledge of the safety regulations and workers’ compensation benefits that are unique to food production facilities.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all employee relations, including conducting investigations, fielding complaints, and providing recommendations for resolutions
• Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives
• Field and respond to HR-related inquiries from employees pertinent to benefits, compensation, performance evaluations, etc.
• Oversee all benefits administration, workers’ comp claims, and leave administrations
• Support recruiting efforts for non-exempt and exempt positions in partnership with Plant and Operations Managers
• Assist with payroll processing using Kronos system
• Create, review, and post job announcements, track applications within ATS, and screen resumes
• Assist with the development and implementation of SOPs and performance metrics

• At least 3 years of experience as an HR Manager is required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong understanding of state and federal HR and employment laws including FMLA, Workers’ Comp, and EEO requirements
• Flexibility, resourcefulness, and effective problem-solving capabilities are required
• 2+ years of experience using Kronos strongly preferred
• Prior union experience or familiarity with working in a manufacturing environment preferred

COMPENSATION:
This opportunity offers a pay rate of $33 plus (DOE), and the potential to transition into a permanent position.
