The Manufacturing Engineer Manager will oversee and continually improve all manufacturing processes. They will also serve as the point of contact between the executive and onsite team. We are seeking a candidate who can offer an expertise in product design, manufacturing, and assembly techniques with the ability to develop and implement product quality standards.

What you will be doing
  • Work with and interface with Product Development and Continuous Improvement team (CIP) to improve an implement new processes and methods increasing yields and quality.
  • Design, develop, and test processes and equipment for production.
  • Continuously monitor manufacturing processes to optimize production flow, improve assembly methods and product quality, and expand capacity.
  • Support existing production with all process equipment and automation.
  • Provide technical consultation for existing product line problem investigation and ongoing product improvement.
  • Responsible for manufacturing performance in the areas of workplace safety, delivery performance, product quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Responsible for the transfer into production of new products from R&D into manufacturing and the implementation of new mechanical designs, modifications, etc. within a scheduled cost and performance criteria.
  • Identify areas of cost reduction and manage the implementation of these types of programs.
  • Manage outside resources providing new processes and equipment.
  • Technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting projects with the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, components and processes, performing design tradeoffs between mechanical, electronic and software implementations.
  • Manages Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Group to include;
  • Personnel management including, interview, hire, retention, promote, discipline, transfer and terminate employees within company guidelines and policies.
  • Develop leadership for future growth, while ensuring proper training and cross training and assessing performance to goals and standards.
  • Ensure the group support engineering activities in other locations as needed.
  • Develop Operating Budgets for department and perform ongoing evaluation of Budget to actual spending.
  • Maintain departmental compliance to FDA and ISO regulations
  • Interpret and administer company policies.
  • Maintain open communications and feedback mechanisms between departments, functions, and senior management.
  • Responsible for all other duties as assigned by Executive Management.
  • Member of the Project Reporting Steering committee, providing regular project status reports.
  • Member of the Technical Development Steering Committee, providing updates and status of technical evaluation and projects.
  • Member of Continuous Improvement (CIP) team.
 
What you have to offer
  • MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or BSME degree with equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a related field, including 5 years in a management role.
  • Proven capacity for managing and leading people with experience scaling up an organization.
  • Proven ability to effectively build a strong engineering team and implement Corporate goals and objectives into the site department plan.
  • Documented record of process engineering success (patents, presentations, peer reviews/publications)
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex problems and determine root causes.
  • Hands on mechanical engineering aptitude, particularly in the medical device field.
  • Expertise in the use of contemporary ME design tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and constructively with Executives, peers, subordinates, and other departments.
