Scion Nonprofit Staffing (www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com) has been engaged to conduct a search for an Accounting Manager (CPA) for our client, a well-known health care provider with an inspiring impactful mission based out of Irvine, California. This is a direct-hire opportunity with an immediate need!

 

OVERVIEW

The Accounting Manager (CPA) will lead the accounting team to ensure that the organization’s resources are managed effectively while maintaining compliance with GAAP. Additionally, the Accounting Manager (CPA) will collaborate with the CFO to deliver key findings and presentations to board members and senior leadership.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Managing all aspects of accounting, billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, and revenue recognition.
  • Managing the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, general and entity accounting, collections, and cost accounting.
  • Managing and elevating a team of accounting professionals.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close process.
  • Preparing quarterly/annual financial reports.
  • Managing the quarterly/annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Preparing budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Achieving budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Providing status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Preparing special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Protecting operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

 

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Experience with nonprofit financial management, including auditing, and tax preparation preferred.
  • Experience supervising a team and leveraging strengths to elevate the department.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit finance compliance.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Superior attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Desire to contribute to a wonderful organization!
