Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a high-priority search for a full-time Senior Scientist to lead a team focused on the development of synthetic biology promoters. We are conducting this search on behalf of our client, an innovative Biotech company focused on improving cell and gene therapies to target serious diseases. This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to play an integral role in an advanced synthetic biology group contributing to optimizing research and development for therapeutic advancement. This position is a Full-Time, Direct Hire opportunity located onsite at our clients South San Francisco, CA location!
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage a team of Research Associates to navigate multiple projects.
  • Manage external communication between key stakeholders.
  • Apply expertise in transcriptional regulation in order to optimize gene circuits and synthetic promoters.
  • Execute MPRAs in human cell lines through the use of a variety of computational techniques.
  • Support process and experiment design as well as assay development.
  • Analyze and present MPRA data to increase project efficiencies.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • You come with a PhD and 4+ years’ experience.
  • You have proven experience assembling DNA barcoded libraries and are familiar with respective screening techniques such as SortSeq, FlowSeq or MPRA.
  • You have understanding and hands on application of transcriptional regulation.
  • You have industry experience in leadership or mentorship.
  • You have hands on experience with genome editing techniques.
  • You have extensive experience performing liquid handling techniques to process high throughput screening.
  • You are collaborative and team oriented.
  • You have exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
