Scion Nonprofit has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Senior Admissions Scholar Recruiter for a national charter school system working to reimagine education! This is a direct hire full-time position based in New York City with a hybrid schedule.

This is a meaningful opportunity to impact the lives of future students and families specifically in the Harlem region! The primary focus of this role is to grow the neighborhood's student enrollment into this school system through spreading word of the incredible academic curricula and achievements - and opportunity available to students!

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Senior Scholar Recruiters will collaborate with the Scholar Recruitment Lead to develop a Go-to-Market plan for their region/territory to meet or exceed their yearly regional application volume KPIs. 

  • Creating and executing the regional recruitment strategy for their assigned region(s) and assisting their Scholar Recruiters in designing their regional recruitment strategies.
  • Plan and execute in-person and virtual recruitment events that drive towards the regional application goals.
  • Track all recruitment activity, including but not limited to event attendees, leads generated per event, collateral used for canvassing, cost per event, keeping the Scholar Recruitment event calendar accurate, and applications generated per event.
  • Serve as the main point-of-contact for school leadership teams within their assigned high-need region/territory. Collaborate with regional partner schools for recruitment efforts including in-person/virtual school tours, tabling at the school or in the neighborhood, social media promotion, and school-based application drives. Identify, initiate, and maintain relationships with community-based organizations (CBO’s) to develop CBO-to-academy pipelines, identify us as the premier educational choice in the community, and cement our organization as a member of the community. This CBO outreach can include tabling, hosting, or supporting CBO events as a representative of the organization and conducting information sessions.
  • Onboarding and training new Scholar Recruiters.
  • Working with Scholar Recruiters to identify, and initiate contact with, community-based organizations (CBO’s) in their assigned region/territory.
  • Track Scholar Recruiter spending against their regional budget.
  • Ensure Scholar Recruiters accurately track their recruitment efforts, including but not limited to event attendees, leads generated per event, collateral used for canvassing, cost per event, keeping the Scholar Recruitment event calendar accurate, and applications generated per event.
  • Advocate for Scholar Recruiter needs to the Marketing/Communications teams to target promotional materials and advertising for their specific markets.
  • Recruit, engage, and organize parents of scholars as resources for prospective families, especially parents of scholars at schools within the assigned region. This includes but is not limited to organizing parent panels, parent application referrals, and recruiting parents for our Parent Ambassador Program.
  • Advise the Marketing and Communications teams in the development of promotional materials, email marketing, social media, and other advertising relevant to their specific regional needs and demographics.
  • Collaborate with the Family Engagement Program Manager for Data & Analytics to perform ad hoc regional market analysis when necessary. Produce and present regular reports of regional market performance and projections, identifying characteristics unique to the market and proposing innovative ways to address them.
  • Maintaining a regional budget for recruitment activities and assisting with the annual budgeting process.
  • Supporting the annual lottery process as appropriate, including at lottery events or with results notification.
  • Supervise and assign tasks to the Scholar Recruitment team’s temporary workers/canvassers and ensure that the tasks are completed successfully and on time.
  • Provide regular, constructive feedback on Scholar Recruiters’ efforts to help meet and exceed their goals
  • Continuously work with their direct report(s) on their professional development. This includes but is not limited to goal setting, establishing progress benchmarks, giving periodic evaluations, and taking advantage of opportunities for professional growth.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:              

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field                                                
  • 4+ years of experience executing student recruitment or field marketing activities, preferably for a non-profit or educational organization
  • Knowledge of administration and management principles related to resource allocation, strategic planning, and leadership models
  • Knowledge of principles and methods involved in sales and marketing, including sales techniques, marketing strategy and tactics, and communications development

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This wonderful opportunity offers the ability to make a significant impact in the lives of students and families in the Bronx neighborhood, and beyond! This role offers a competitive salary between $80,000-$90,000, depending on experience! Additional compensation includes an extensive benefits package with medical, dental, and vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, retirement plan, and life insurance.
